Wind chill warning for
City of Winnipeg issued
Extreme wind chills tonight and Saturday morning.
This is a warning that extreme wind chill conditions are imminent or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.
An Arctic ridge of high pressure situated over Southern Manitoba will drop temperatures back into the minus 30's this evening. As the ridge slides southeastward winds will increase from the south with winds of 15 to 20 km/h expected overnight. Wind chill values of minus 40 to minus 45 are expected by morning with values moderating slightly throughout the day on Saturday.
At these wind chill values frostbite on exposed skin may occur in less than 10 minutes.
